RIBBLESDALE Wanderers have hosted their annual Harriet Aubin bowls competition, which was first played back in 1995.

The event was a ladies-only competition until three years ago but was recently changed to a mixed-doubles competition and attracted plenty of entries this time around.

The tournament was played in a round-robin format, with Pam Hargreaves and George Rushton finishing in second place, and Lillian Tomlinson and Alan Dewhurst the overall winners at the end of the event.

This is the second time Lillian has won the doubles competition and she has also won the singles four times.

A spokesman for Ribblesdale Wanderers Cricket and Bowling Club said: “Many thanks to Chris Snape for organising and running the competition.

“The trophy was presented to the winners by John Aubin, son of the late Harriet Aubin.”
