LAST season's Blackburn Combination runners-up Blackburn United will aim to go one better when they get the new campaign underway at Clayton Park Rangers on the first weekend of the season on September 5.

Last season's champions Hole I'th Wall are a notable absentee in 2015/16 having resigned from the league due to health issues over one of the organisers.

Their absence will give United the belief they can step up and claim the title, having come so close last season.

Last season's Second Division champions Cabin End are away from home as they get their Premier Division campaign up and running, taking on Euro Garages, who were also promoted from the second tier.

Clifton, who did the cup double last season, face Anchor at home on the first day of the season while Rishton United are away at Islington.

In the Second Division Longshaw FC are at home to The Ivy Veterans on the first day of the season, with Blackburn United Reserves travel to the Lord Raglan.

Rishton Rovers host Blackburn Eagles and The Lion are at home to Walker Preston.

Blackburn Combination has also launched a new veterans league for 2015/16, aimed at the over 35s.

Matches are nine-a-side and will be played on grass pitches on Saturday's at Pleasington Playing Fields.
