BURNLEY Lads Club Clarets proved their were Premier League class after winning a table tennis title for third consecutive year.

The team, which included Keith Lee, Andrea Harrison, Matt Harrison and Dave Kay, made it a hat-trick of honours after the were crowned East Lancashire Table Tennis League Premier League champions once again.

The all-conquering team’s previous success came under the banner of Burnley Boys and Girls Club but this season they went under the original name of the club to honour the members who went of to serve in 1914 in the First World War.

They also added the Clarets to the name in recognition of Burnley playing in the Premier league in the same season.

Burnley Lads Club Clarets finished well clear at the top of the table after they were beaten just once throughout the season.

East Lancs Seconds finished as runners-up with K Ward Plumbing in third place.

Dave Kay and Keith Lee finished the season in the top five of the individual merit, Kay in third place and Lee in fourth, Michael Moir of Hyndburn TTC ‘A’ was top of the table.
