PRIMARY school pupils from across Hyndburn lapped up the athletics as they enjoyed an energetic end to the summer school term.
Sporty pupils from across the borough starred on the track and in the field at the annual event which was again held at Wilson’s Playing Fields in Clayton-le-Moors.
The competition was for Year Five and Year Six pupils who took part in events ranging from the standing long jump to the rocket throw - a take on the javelin - as well as sprint races, relays and the longer distance 600m.
It was certainly a hectic sporting schedule to the end of the term with teams from across Hyndburn representing the borough at the Lancashire School Games that were held in Blackpool.
The majority of the sporting events throughout the year are held jointly with schools from the Ribble Valley who were crowned overall winners at the Lancashire School Games.
