THE Hollins Grove Conservative Club open snooker tournament gets under way tomorrow and has attracted some of the area’s best small tables players.

Matches get under way at 7pm and will run for the next three Wednesdays before entering the knockout stages.

The event carries a prize fund of £200 along with a prize for the highest break.

There are some fascinating first round draws, none more so than the father and son showdown between Jonny and Tommy Hannon on the last Wednesday of matches.

Dave Houghton. playing off scratch takes on Bernard Braddock, who has a plus 10 handicap, while Mick McHugh is up against the equally matched Simon Ash.

George Holden and Craig Steele - both playing off scratch - which feature on the second Wednesday, Holden takes on Gaz Hillman while Steele faces Dave Harrison.
