Blackburn Combination Sports Council Cup Final
The Ivy 3 Hole I’th Wall 2

SHAUN Watson produced a footballing masterclass as his hat-trick heroics guided Ivy to a thrilling Sports Council Cup victory over champions Hole I’th Wall.

Having suffered cup final heartache against Clifton in the Birtwistle Cup the previous week, Ivy were in no mood to make it an unwanted cup double.

Watson opened and closed the goal scoring in a fascinating contest, eventually netting the winner 10 minutes from time.

He gave Ivy a 12th minute lead, neatly slotted the ball under the advancing HIW keeper Ben McGinty.

But the champions turned the game on its head with two goals in 10 minutes.

Lee Turner drew the teams level before Wes Leluiga made it 2-1.

But there was still more to come in a breathtaking first half when Watson scored his second with a wonderful overhead effort.

Both teams continued to create chances after the break but it was that man Watson who netted the winner, confidently drilling the ball home after Liam Lacey’s shot was blocked.
