THE Accrington and District Junior Boys League held its end of season cup finals at the home of Clitheroe Football Club.

In the Under 11s final, Rishton United in a game where defences dominated in the first half. But in the second half, Rishton took control and ran out 3-0 winners.

It was a memorable season for Padiham Saints U12s who added the cup tot heir league success to comlete the double. But Langho Juniors made it hard for them until Padiham ran out comfortable winners.

In the Under 13s, Whalley Juniors also did the double. Having dominated in the league, they turned on the heat against Huncoat United White with a comfortable win against a team who did not give up until the final whistle The Under 15s clash between Oswaldtwistle Rangers and Fenny & Plessy was end to end stuff. The game appeared to be heading for extra time until Ossy scored a dramatic late winner.

The league, which was formed in 1958, is now inviting teams to enter next season.

It runs age groups from u7s to u16s and we are in the process of seeking sanction to run a girls league from u7s to u10s.
