SANDYGATE boxers starred under the Burnley Mechanics spotlights at another sell-out home show.

More than 400 fight fans crammed in to the Burnley venue to see the club’s young fighters put on a fine display of boxing.

Cliviger’s Bram Richmond got Sandygate off to a winning start when the 12-year-old with a debut victory over Alan Maddocks of Wildcard ABC.

The 12-year-old dominated all three rounds with his no nonsense aggressive style working to great effect to get an unanimous verdict at the end of the three rounds.

Next up, unbeaten prospect Rio Lynch who was up against Calum Smith from Wednesbury ABC. And his lightening hands and quick defence meant that his unbeaten record was never put in any danger as the 11-year-old stretched his record to 5-0 and earned the Boxer-Of-The-Night mantle.

Nelson’s Hassan Khan, 11, narrowly lost out on a split decision against Rocco Aimes (Jennings ABC), as did Burnley’s Joe Crawford, 12, against Brendon Smith from Wednesbury ABC.

North West junior champion, JamesDanson, 14, hoped to get the club back to winning ways against Neil Rychel (Wednesbury ABC) - and he didn’t disappoint winning with a third round TKO.

The dangerous Danson confused the Midlander from the off, rolling in and switching target areas while covering up after each phase.

He controlled the second and went to work on the third, forcing a standing eight count following a a barrage of blows then forced the referee to stop the contest as Danson went for the stoppage. Brunshaw’s Jaden Howarth Franklin, 12, was the wrong side of a split result against Kai Wharburton (Northside ABC).

Harvey Fletcher stretched his unbeaten record to six when the 13-year-old produced a whirlwind display to get the unanimous decision against Hull’s Karl Ayku from St.Paul’s ABC, However, Reiko Rickwood, 13, just missed out in a close contest against Tom Rowen (Moss Side ABC).

England champion Brend-an Collins, 16, was involved in the bout of the night after a thrilling victory against Matt Ballie of Littleborough.

Both fighters gave their all and had the crowd on their feet in the third and final round with Collins getting the decision. Gannow’s Brett Windle (16) lost a rematch with Bayan Khalil (Stockport ABC) with it now one a piece a trilogy beckons.

Sabden’s unbeaten senior Reece Farnhill, 17) ended the sell-out show with an impressive points win against Col Brooks (Eccles ABC).

The evening began with Sam Walsh, Soliman Malik, both 13, and Zak Bailey. 10, all involved in non contest bouts.
