LONGSHAW B are celebrating a hat-trick of Danny Hogan victories after beating Punch Hotel in the final at Orchard Social Club.

The scoreline of 5-2 flattered the holders somewhat with three of the frames going down to the black. A struggling Chris Lawson couldn’t cope with Punch skipper Kane Suddick who has improved by leaps and bounds this season.

Frame two was completely different, Craig Steele dominating before pairing with Lawson to take the first pairs.

Alan Heaton overcame Paul Wilkins to make it 3-1 Longshaw but Ian Harle, won against George Holden to narrow the gap to just one frame.

Holden teamed with Gaz Hampson against Suddick and Franco Ponti in the next and the teams were locked at 47 points each before Hampson potted a superb black to put Longshaw on the brink of an historic hat trick. Jonny Hannan sealed the win, seeing off Ponti by 80-30.

In the final of the John Greenhalgh Trophy Mill Hill B faced first division Hoddlesden Con at Darwen Golf Club.

Jim Ollerton gave Hoddlesden the first frame before Darren Heggie hit back with a demolition job on Steve Hill. Heggie couldn’t do much with partner Liam Cooper in the pairs as the wily Alf Illaria and youngster Jake Loftus dominated. Walt Jarvis showed he can still be a big hitter as he limited the dangerous Dave Eastham to a mere 16 points.

Jimmy Brookens defeated Joe Roebuck by 50 -21 and then stayed at the table to partner Walt Jarvis to a narrow win over Ollerton and Hoddlesden skipper Dave Fenwick.

At 4-3 Mill Hill Hoddlesden needed the final frame to force a sudden death play off and it was Fenwick taking on Chris Dilworth.

Fenwick battled but Dilworth took the pink and black to give Mill Hill the win.
