SEHER Yousaf wasted little time in making a big impression in the ring in Northwich recently.

The 15-year-old from Blackburn with Darwen Boxing Academy was in knock out form to stop Jo Wrighton from Lostock ABC in the opening round.

Seher put her opponent under pressure from the word go, quickly landing her crisp right cross to the head over and over again.

And after just one minute 15 seconds in to the round, Seher got her opponent’s measure when she caught Wrighton with three very clean right hands to the head - forcing the referee to step in to give Wrighton the mandatory eight count.

But there was to be no stopping the Blackburn fighter.

As soon as the referee gave the go ahead, she started going forward and with another three punch combinations to the head and body this time the referee stepped in to give her opponent the second eight count and also stopped the contest one minute 30 seconds in to the first round.

Yaqoob Hussain MBE was thrilled for his young boxer and is now hoping she can shine in Blackburn with Darwen Boxing Academy home how next month.

“I am very proud of Seher’s performance ,” said Hussain. “It was a devastating demonstation of good boxing skills.

“She will be boxing on our home show on May 29.”

Seher’s performance has certainly attracted the attention of the regional coaches as she was selected to train with the North West Regional Squad on Sunday in Birmingham along with the Midland Counties female team.
