Lymm 44 Rossendale 17

NOT the best of days for Rossendale who went down 44-17 away at Lymm.

The east Lancashire side were never really in it and although they still had a chance turning round 25-10 at the interval fell away in the second half conceding a total of seven tries.

Following and exchange of penalties Andy rowley for the home side and steve Nutt for the visitors, Lymm raced into an 18-3 lead through tries from Richard Halford, James Eccleston and James Bowden converted by Rowley.

Rossendale came into the game with a try from Nutt off a great break by Danny Harrison and with Jamie Albinson in support the full back was on hand to take the scoring pass and add the conversion.

Unfortunately Lymm came back with a second try from Halford to close the half 25-10. In the second period with Ryan McKibbin in the sin bin Lymm went further ahead tries from Eccleston and Tom Bray, converted by Rowley.

Rossendale rallied and Tom Beldow went over off but with Nutt sent off for stamping Bowden went in for his second converted by Rowley.
