RICHARD Tokeley who was crowned the 2014 Ping Pong Jam Champion at the BEST Centre in Burnley after fighting off stiff competition for the precious prize.
Tokeley took away the coveted ‘Jam’ title after beating rivals Jim Balmforth, Jordan Moore, and Darren Wright then defeated defending champion Dylan Storey in the final.
Ping Pong Jam is a new concept being rolled out by the Table Tennis England to make the game more appealing to youth culture.
Set amongst flashing lights and music the game takes a traditional turn from ‘11up’.
In the final Tokeley triumphed 34-29 in a ‘topsy turvy’ final that could have gone either way.
