THREE games fell victim to the weather but the hardy football followers who braved the bitterly cold wintery weather were served up a feast of goals and football.
In Division One, New Gardeners the league’s only unbeaten team looked every bit title contenders as they demolished last season’s champions Mill Hill with a convincing 4-1 win.
Lewis Hamlin was without doubt man of the match with four well taken goals, in the only other first division game played bee Hive moved into second spot in the league with an excellent 5-1 win over AMT Lawyers
It was a very good team performance with the goals coming from the Berry brothers Mick and Andy with Mahoney, Bowen & Tabiner getting their names on the score sheet.
The battle for promotion is gathering momentum with at least seven teams in the mix to mount a challenge, Whinney Hill Colts still lead with a good 4-2 away win to JQ Plumbing Crown Paints did their chances no harm with a thumping 8-2 win over Helmshore Harriers. Great Harwood Rangers and a fast improving Stanhill WMC won 10-3 and 11-0 respectively against very game opposition Anchor and Baggy’s Wine Bar.
