LEAGUE action returned to Charnock Richard and Chorley were looking to take their cup form into the league against a physical Tranmere side.
Chorley started quickly and a training ground corner between Vicky Coope and Natalie Parry was completed with a spectacular long range shot from Coope (right) to give Chorley the lead.
Pressure mounted from Tranmere but Chorley were resiliant. Kay Unsworth and Kerry Wareing were strong snd ensured Chorley took a half time lead.
Shortly into the second half, excellent skill from Scarlett Smith finished with a cross to find Sam Cadwallader, who, back from injury, calmly slotted home to double Chorley’s lead.
Ruth Harrison remained strong at the back and Chorley battled to victory on a heavy pitch.
Chorley are now third in the FA Women’s Nothern Premier League Division One and are in FA Cup action at Charnock Richard on Sunday against Rotherham Ladies FC, 1pm kick off.
