DARWEN Spartans Under 14s put daylight between themselves and Fulledge Colts Blue with a thrilling victory on Sunday.

The Spartans travelled to Burnley in the U14s Green league of the East Lancashire Football Alliance and won 4-2 to cement their third place position in the league, three points and one spot above the Colts.

Connor Kelly and Troy Unsworth both scored twice for the Spartans at Towneley Park.

League leaders Mellor Juniors were without a game and second placed side Globe Bullough Park, based in Oswaldtwistle, missed the chance to go top after drawing 1-1 at home with Lango Juniors, Alexander Sloan on target for the home side and Max Livesey netting for the visitors.

Barrowford Celtic U14 Black played out an entertaining 3-3 draw with Feniscowles and Pleasington at Bullholme. Morgan Davies, Lewis Taylor and Jack Christie scored for the home side, with Thomas Horsfield, Ben Norris and Hubert Jurek scoring for the visitors.

In the only other game in U14 Green Padiham Saints ran out 6-1 winners at Imosa FC at Pleckgate Playing Fields, with Matthew Jefferson scoring a hat-trick for the visitors. Dylan Du Toit, Erik Hanson and Luke Mulcahy scored the rest.

The win moves the Saints up to seventh, while Imosa stay one from bottom in ninth with one draw and 10 defeats from 11 games.

In the Under 14s Red league the games involving AFC Darwen and Blue Star, and Crown Paints Juniors and Readstone were postponed.

Mill Hill are now ten points clear at the top after winning 4-0 away at Darwen Rangers, with nine wins and a draw from their ten games.

Fulledge Colts Red are fifth in the league after winning 4-2 against Lammack Juniors in a game played at QEGS.

Bailey Thompson scored twice for the visitors with Tom Lancaster and William Smith scoring the others.

In the only other game played in that division Clitheroe Wolves Red moved level on points with Blackburn United in second after winning 2-1 away at Pleckgate.

In the Under 14s Yellow league Huncoat United made it eight wins out of eight with 41 goals scored after beating Todmorden Sports Centre 6-0 at Wilson Playing Fields.

Elijah Bello scored four for the home side, with Riley Armstrong bagging one to take his tally to 23 for the season and Adam Collison getting the other. The result leaves Huncoat United one point clear at the top, although second placed Barnoldswick Town have played four games more, while Todmorden Sports Centre are down in ninth.

Great Harwood Rovers maintained their own 100 per cent record from seven games with a 4-3 win at Clitheroe Wolves Yellow, with Jack Altham, James Slattery and an Alexander Dinsdale double securing the win for the visitors at Roefield.

Rovers are still in third, but are just two points behind Barnoldswick Town with five games in hand.

Town beat bottom side Bacup Juniors 5-0 at Victory Park, with Teal Amos scoring twice and Lewis Crawford-Brown, Cameron Langhorn and William Peel-Waller completing the scoring. Bacup remain winless in 12 games.

Pendle Forest remain seventh but they stretched their advantage of eighth places Rossendale United Boys to seven points after beating them 4-2, thanks to a double from James Danson and strikes from Harvie Day and Jacob Procter. The Rossendale United Lads and Barrowford Celtic game was postponed.
