BLACKBURN made it 11 wins from 12 games this season after thumping Fleetwood on the Fylde coast.

Dino Radice's side are flying this season and they sit second in the North Lancs/Cumbria league, just three points behind Leigh, who have a 100 per cent record so far.

After last week's superb 24-8 victory over De La Salle, Burn travelled to ninth placed Fleetwood in confident mood to keep their charge going.

And they came away with another resounding success, winning 48-5.

Burn have now won seven games in a row since their only slip-up this season, a 23-19 league defeat to St Benedict's.

During those seven games they have racked up 387 points, at an average of over 55 a game, while only conceding 80, at an average of around 11 a game.

Next week Heaton Moor, who are one from bottom and have lost five of six games on the road, are the visitors to Ramsgreave Drive as Burn look to keep the heat on Leigh at the top of the table.

Radice and his side can consider themselves unlucky that their record of 10 wins from 11 league games is only good enough for second place at the moment, with the leaders blazing a trail at the top.

Blackburn's 2nd XV travelled to De La Salle seconds this weekend and returned 34-19 victors, but the third team didn't have a game.

Burnley's first XV were without a game this weekend, but their seconds were edged out 20-16 against Leigh's third XV, but Burnley's thirds got a measure of revenge with a 66-17 triumph over Leigh fourths.
