SANDYGATE Boxing Club will be hoping it will have plenty to cheer about when it holds its annual black tie dinner fund-raiser next week.

Money raised from the Burnley Mechanics event will go towards helping Clarets Cheer and Dance Club.

The cheer-leadering group have recently moved in to the same Hargreaves Street premises as Sandygate and as a welcome gift, the boxing club will hand profits from the event to their new neighbours.

Clarets Cheer and Dance, a Not-4-Profit club, were provided with a top floor studio by Howard Rigg Properties but it is in need of renovation before members can move in to their new home.

The event takes place on Thursday, November 27 in aid of their new upstairs neighbours Community Club, Claret's Cheer & Dance. Not only will the Sandygate fighters be showing there skills, Clarets Cheer & Dance will also be performing. There will also be a raffle and a sports auction with a battle of its own - Burnley FC memorabilia versus Blackburn Rovers FC memorabilia.

"We thought the best welcoming gift was to give them a helping hand to carry out the renovation work so they can move into their new home," said Sandygate coach Nik Tucker.

The club will also have a special guest from world of boxing, football and television.

Anyone interested in attending or helping in anyway contact either club for information. Tables of 10 are still available at £350 or individual tickets at £35 for this evening of dinner & boxing.
