The first ever Rugby Camp was held at Burnley Rugby Club for two days during half term with nineteen youngsters joining in. Led by Burnley RUFC first team coach Simon Finnan, who also delivers rugby in the community, supported by Steve Harrison, who weekly coaches the U9 within the club.

Being the first it needed to be fun and enjoyable and numerous different games were played from "rob the nest" to "rugby rounders". Also the children took part in agility running, whilst also learning kicking technique and key body position "tower of power" using fun tools from Swiss balls to karate belts.

Feed back received seemed all positive with parents saying their children came home tired but they had fun and great that they are playing and making different friends away from school and not just sat on the Xbox in the school holidays.

This was also new experience for me delivering a two day camp for 7 - 13 year olds and therefore any more feedback would be welcome as being the first one things can always improve. To here the children enjoyed it though, moving forward I will plan to run these throughout 2015 with a variety of activities paramount to success.
