DAVID Lloyd Chorley 1 extended their lead at the top of North West Squash League Division One to 20 points after an emphatic 20-1 victory over Welsh team Saints.

The win was all the more impressive as they did it without two of their star players, world champion Laura Massaro and husband and coach Danny who were at the US Squash Open.

But their absence did little to weaken the side as DL made it five wins out of five.

The leaders drafted in second team players Ben Mckenna and Charlie Cowie and it was McKenna who got them off to a winning start, beating George Thomas 3-0.

Cowie maintained his personal 100 per record making easy work of a 3-0 win over Liam Jones.

Team captain Chris Lengthorn was up next against Jordan Davies and another solid performance from Lengthorn got team Chorley another 3 points.

Team number one James Earles. Earles was up against European sensation Emyr Evans - brother of ladies world number 30 Tesni Evans - and bounced back from 8-2 down in the first game then closed the match 11-4, 11-4 in the second and third.

Last up was Guhan Senthilkumar and he completed a clean sweep with a 3-1 win over Adam Curry.

It wasn’t such a good week for a weakened DLC 2 who lost 20-3 at Tame Valley in Division Two Central.

East Lancs 1 lead the way in Division Three Central North as they made it six wins out of six to move 10 points clear.

Al Asan Ulhaq, Neil Gibson, Tim Metcalfe and Chris Endersby all won with Eric Knowles the only loser on the night. Crow Wood 1 lost 20-3 at Fleetwood 1 while bottom of the table Northern lost 15-7 against 3-1-5 Squash Club 2.

In Division Four North East, Haslingden 1 have a commanding 19 point lead over second-placed Crow Wood 2 from Burnley after beating DL Chorley 5 20-2.

Gordon Gilchrist beat Steve Atherton in four games and it was likewise for SImon Holland over Andy Wray.
