THE Ivy made the most of Rimington’s lack of action to jump back to the top of Division One with a morale-boosting 8-0 victory over Rock Rovers.

The Blackburn side were knocked off top spot last week by a rampant Rimington side who ran out 6-3 winners.

While the Ribble Valley side remain the division’s form team – they have won all six games so far this season – Ivy will be happy to be three points clear at the top, even if they have played three games more than their title rivals.

Mill Hill are likely to be in the mix come the end of the season and they made it four wins out of six with a 3-1 win at Read United.

They are currently third, five behind Rimington and eight behind The Ivy but have three games in hand on the early leaders.

Burnley Belvedere beat Feniscowles and Pleasington 2-1 while Stacksteads SJ and Enfield were involved in an 11-goal thriller, Stacksteads eventually winning 6-5. Their reserve teams also fought out a 5-5 draw!

Bottom of the table Langho lost 4-2 at Barrowford Celtic.

In Division Two, Colne United’s clash with Worsthorne was postponed and Prairie United took advantage to join them on 15 points at the top of the table after beating Peel Park 5-3.

Rishton United are up to fifth place after an impressive 4-1 win at Rosegrove Railway.

In the Reserve Division, Whinney Hill went top on goal difference after previous leaders Read United were held.

Hill enjoyed a 3-1 win at Feniscowles and Pleasington to move up to 19 points while Read were held to a 1-1 draw at Langho.

Mill Hill are just a point behind in third place after an emphatic 5-1 win over Ossie St Marys.
