THREE of Sandygate ABC’s hottest prospects have picked up North West ABA recognition awards in Manchester.

The three young fighters – all ranked inside England’s top 10 in their respective age groups – attended the prestigious event held at the Waterside Hotel, Didsbury.

First up for the popular Burnley club was National Minors finalist, North West champion & North of England champion, Reiko Rickwood. The 12-year-old Hameldon High School pupil picked up his following a fine cracking season.

Brett Windle, 16, picked up his award after he was crowned North West champion for the second successive year – beating England vested opponent’s along the way and receiving a special mention from the master of ceremony’s as one to look out for this season.

Last up for Sandygate was Ighten Hill’s Joe Crawford who capped a wonderful debut season with a North West ABA award.

The 12-year-old starred in the ring winning the Minors North West mantle as well as beating two regional champions in the schoolboy age group above.
