DAVID Lloyd Chorley 1 made it two wins out of two with a convincing 19-6 win over The Northern 1 to move in to first place in North west Counties Squash League Division One.

Young Isaac Rawcliffe impressed playing at five after he came from 2-1 down to beat Manchester Metropolitan student Michael Lowery.

Charlie Major managed to sneak a game from world champion Laura Massaro but she soon got back in control and showed her class by controlling him so well in the third game that he didn’t even get a point.

Chris Lengthorn played clinical squash to get up and coming Tom Bamford off in a 3-0 easy win.

Pupil got the better of master when string number two Danny Massaro lost 12-10 in the fifth game to go down 3-2 to Ashley Davies, 19 – a player Massaro has coached since he was 15. But David Lloyd Chorley’s string number 1, James Earles, ranked 151 in the world, beat head coach of Manchester Northern and ex-professional Andy Ehipp.

Blackburn Northern 1 beat Burnley’s Crow Wood 1 15-9 in Division Three Central North thanks to wins for Lee Yewlett, Jeremy Clarkson and Mark Nightingale.

East Lancs 1 head the as they made it three wins from three after beating Penwortham 1 19-5 with Al Asan Ulhaq, Neil Gibson, Tim Metcalfe and Chris Endersby all winning.

In all Blackburn derby, East Lancs 2 beat Blackburn Northern 3 17-8 in Division Four North East.

John Corteen, Ian Lancaster, Max Wyn-Jones and Andy Wyn-Jones all won for East Lancs with Barry Grimes the only winner for Northern.

And in another local derby, David Lloyd Chorley 3 defeated Blackburn Northern 2 20-3 with Roger Firth, David Abberley, Lee Cuming, Adrian Semple and Ian Hattersley all winning for the hosts.
