The Lancashire Wolverines American Football team hosted their first residential training camp for players and coaches in preparation for their second season in the BAFANL Premiership North – and it was a massive success!

The team spent three days in Troutbeck, in the Lake District, with training sessions, game film reviews and team bonding time designed to prepare the Wolverines for the 2014 campaign.

With the opening game against the Tamworth Phoenix, at Blackburn Rugby Club taking place on Sunday, the Wolverines looked to the expertise of their coaches, and guest coach Michael Callan, to learn and train to become better players.

The tough training camp included 5am starts for the 60-strong Wolverines contingent, with breakfast, game film review and the morning training session taking place before ice baths and physiotherapy slots for players.

Afternoon training then proceeded players’ social time, an important part of the weekend for team bonding.
