Longshaw B moved a step closer to the Blackburn and Darwen Snooker League First Division with an emphatic 7-1 destruction of Rishton Golf Club.

The visitors took the first five frames with little effort – skipper Lee Whittle shining with a cracking break of 68 – followed by an equally impressive run of 48.

Rishton’s sole success came courtesy of Tony Haworth who overcame Dylan Ince.

With nearest rivals VIP A held to a draw at home against Borough Longshaw move eight points clear with games running out.

Highlight of the VIP game was yet another win for Gail Costello over the highly-rated Sheddy Khan.

Feniscowles in and out season continued up at the Hole Ith Wall where the sides traded frames from start to finish.

Gareth Pilling got the home team of to a winning start with an impressive 52-17 victory over Andy Rourke.

The result puts a severe blow into any lingering hopes of promotion Fenny had left and leaves Hole I'th Wall rooted at the foot of the table, some 9 points adrift of Anchor.

Orchard were the visitors at Blackburn Golf B and quickly established a two frame lead before the Golf Club snatched the first doubles via Craig Leach and Mick Mountain.

Although the golfers took two of the next three frames it wasn’t enough as Orchard took the last two and the match.

VIP B move into fourth spot after their 5-3 over Anchor but they are now eight points off the second promotion place and with only three matches left for them it looks as though their chance has gone.

Division One saw leaders Greenfield get back to winning ways after a string of four draws. Best performance here undoubtedly George Holden for the visitors who beat Eamon Bufton by an astonishing 97-1.

Quality breaks of 32 and a 52 clearance contributed to Holden’s best performance of the season. It was looking like another draw when Greenfield let a 4-1 lead slip.

A battling performance from Mick Killalea saw him nick the doubles with a 31 after a careless safety from Alan Heaton.

Heaton was also his victim as he turned on the style to win 66-24 in the next. It was Gaz Hampson who steered Greenfield home with a superb win in the last frame.

With Park A closing in on the leaders it was a tough match down at the Fox.

It was nip and tuck all the way, both sides trading frames until Park made the breakthrough to go into a 4-2 lead, just one away from a famous victory.

Fox had different ideas and quality performances from Scott Morris and skipper Derek Haworth saved the draw.

Second placed Hoddlesden came from 3-0 to beat Stanhill Darren Wareing won the last singles and the final doubles with Johnny Dean to seal victory.

Struggling West View threw away a 4-1 lead against Cherry Tree who fought back to draw thanks to two wonderful performances from Andy Stone before son Darren took the last. And Blackburn Golf A came away with a 5-3 win from Park B.
