CHORLEY Buccaneers have received the perfect boost ahead of the new season after securing a grant from Lancashire Council Council.

The American Football club has received £1,000 from the Champion for Young People Funding which will be used to buy new kit for the youth full contact team.

“This is a great start to our new year and is definitely going to help out the kitted team and the club a lot,” said Buccaneers general manager and kitted head coach, Ian Nicholson. “After having several knock backs last year for funding, to finally be awarded one really is a fantastic feeling.”

The grant comes as the team looks to reach the end of season Britbowl for the sixth time in a row – and Nicholson thanked Chorley County Councillor Mark Perks for awarding the grant.

“I can’t thank Lancashire County Council and Coun Mark Perks enough for the help and support that they have given our club.”

The Chorley Buccaneers offer American Football for seven to 17-years-old with kitted and flag disciplines. Training is on Saturdays and for anyone wishing to get involved should email info@chorleybuccaneers.com
