IT’S all about the old and the new at Blackburn Martial Arts and Kickboxing Club.

While Shihan Simon Jones was awarded his eighth dan and Sensei Paul Armer picked up his first dan at a special grading in Liverpool, young Spike Speak is part of the future of the club having recently received his yellow belt.

Jones and Armer took part in a World Ju-Jitsu Federation grading where exponents in Ju-Jitsu came from as far as Italy, Switzerland and Israel.

this is great for kids to get involved with, they learn to protect themselves but just as important it gives them pride and respect, the instructors too deserve a mention, its their tutoring that keeps the kids going week after week,
