Burnley Tornados are gearing up for another successful campaign.

The club, whose youth team finished third in the BritBowl last season, has formed its first senior squad as well as a flag team for 11 to 14-year-old.

And two coaches Paul Peppiate and Alan Baldwin recently achieved their BAFCA level 1 coaching certificate Head coach Tony Edwards, said: “The Tornados have continued their success and have added a senior team to compliment their newly formed flag team and flagship youth team.

“The hardworking lads including newly qualified coaches are already coming together and are behaving like a team after training for a few short weeks, who knows what they will be capable of when they have been together for a year or more.”

Youth Head Coach Paul Brammer is delighted to see his players back in training and believes the are ahead of schedule.

“The team are well into the winter program and are in advance of where we expected them to be at this point.

“They are a great set of players who are ready to welcome and help new players.”

Peppiate, whose son played for the very successful youth team last year, completed the course and will now continue to help with the youth team.

And Baldwin, whose son currently trains with the new senior team, is to help Head Coach, Tony Edwards, as either defensive co-ordinator or offensive co-ordinator, a position they have yet to decide on.
