Lancashire captain Bromilow’s faith with Red Rose squad

LANCASHIRE captain Bill Bromilow has “every confidence” in the squad of seven players named for the England Golf Northern Group qualifying round at Ponteland on June 6.
The final six will be announced after this week’s county championship at Preston which finishes on Sunday.
But Bromilow, who has led the Red Rose men to two victories in three English Finals in four years, admitted: “Choosing the odd man out will be difficult.
“This squad is much stronger than the one that lost in last year’s final because collectively they have more experience. But our first job is to clear the Ponteland hurdle.”
John Carroll, Blackburn’s Steven McGlynn and Mark Young of Hurst Green have all won the Northern Order of Merit at least once and Paul Kinnear, an England A squad player, finished 10th in last week’s Welsh Open at Prestatyn.
Bromilow, who finishes his five-year term as captain at the end of the season, added: “It would be great to go out with another English title.”
SQUAD: John Carroll (Huyton & Prescot), Paul Howard (Southport & Ainsdale), Jon Hurst (Pleasington), Paul Kinnear (Formby), Steven McGlynn (Blackburn), Sean Towndrow (Southport & Ainsdale), Mark Young (Longridge).
