PLEASINGTON’S rising star Jack Brooks won his first professional event in Spain on Wednesday.
The 21-year-old Chorley-born ace picked up a cheque for 2,000 euros after winning a play-off in Alcaidesa on the Gecko Euro Pro Tour.
It was Brooks’ first tournament since turning professional in September.
The Pleasington course record holder and Lancashire player always intended to turn full-time this year after a glowing amateur career.
Brooks, a former England Under 14 champion and Lancashire Boys champion in 2007, had seen his amateur world ranking climb inside the top 1,000 over the past 18 months.
