SOME of the region’s leading sportsmen went head-to-head at Pleasington Golf Club in an event to support the benefit year celebrations for Lancashire cricketer Gary Keedy.
Stars from the worlds of football and rugby union joined members of the Lancashire first team for a celebrity golf day, which was organised by Lancashire County Cricket Club sponsors, Daniel Thwaites.
Celebrity golfers included Lancashire captain Glen Chapple and his Red Rose team-mates Mal Loye, Mark Chilton, Paul Horton and Oliver Newby, along with former Sale Sharks star Steve Hanley.
“I’d like to say a big thank you to Daniel Thwaites for their continued support,” said Keedy. “I had a fantastic day and it was great to see so many familiar faces from the world of sport turning out to support me.”
Lee Williams, marketing manager for Daniel Thwaites, added: “As sponsors of Lancashire County Cricket Club, we are delighted to help Gary in any way we can during his benefit year.”
