ACCRINGTON teen sensation Nikki Foster will be aiming for more golf glory this week as she begins her assault at the British Girls Championship at West Lancs Golf Club, which starts today.
The 17-year-old Pleasington – a full-time golfer – is confident her recent stunning form will stand her in good stead for the matchplay tournament.
Last week, Foster was part of the victorious England girls’ team that claimed the Home International Championships in Fairhaven.
She won each of her three singles matches – against Wales, Scotland and Ireland – as England cruised to a comfortable overall victory.
“I really played well,” said Foster, daughter of former Lancashire golfer Trevor Foster.
“It’s the best feeling ever to represent your country and it was great to have a lot of local support.”
That success followed her own personal triumph in winning the Lancashire Girls Championships for the third year running.
