The FA have written to Blackburn Rovers' striker Paul Dickov to ask for his observations on the spitting allegation with Manchester City's David Sommeil.
Sommeil, 31, was accused of spitting in Dickov's face during City's 2-0 defeat at Ewood on Sunday.
An FA spokesman confirmed: "We have written to him (Dickov) asking for a response on what happened."
