Bradley Dack says a promotion campaign in his first year with Rovers is something he will remember for the rest of his life.

Dack’s 18 goals spearheaded an immediate return to the Championship for Rovers while he won plenty of personal awards and plaudits along the way.

The 24-year-old, signed for £750,000 from Gillingham last summer, was named League One player of the year and earned a place in the EFL team of the year.

The awards kept coming as the attacker claimed the club’s main player of the year prize, goal of the season and the independent disabled supporters club top gong.

There was also a PFA League One player of the month award along the way, and he claimed man of the match awards in each of Rovers’ four televised fixtures.

But it was the success of the team in achieving their promotion aim which was of most importance to Dack.

“It’s really special and something that I will remember for the rest of my life,” he said of promotion.

“This is the reason I signed, to play Championship football next season and we have done it.

“It’s been a long 10 months, it’s been tough but we have got through it as a team, culminating in an unbelievable promotion.

“To do it how we have with the group of players we’ve got and the togetherness, it’s an unbelievable feeling.

“To share it with the lads is great, the team spirit is second to none.”

Two long unbeaten runs proved key to Rovers clinching an automatic promotion spot, they went 18 games without defeat between October and February and then 14 between February and April.

But things haven’t always been straightforward. Rovers lost their opening two games and were off the promotion pace until late October.

Despite a stunning debut year at Ewood, Dack has had to deal with disappointment, with hamstring issues proving to be a frustration at various points of the season, including seeing him ruled out of the final two games.

Rovers were at one stage 14 points off top spot, though Dack praised the strength of resolve in the dressing room to respond to that.

He added: “There were doubts after the first two games, losing them both.

“But we knew that we had the players and the character, but most importantly we knew we could adapt to this league and show our quality.

“There was a lot of pressure on us at the start of the season, everyone expected us to go up, but to deliver in the way we have is unbelievable.

“I think that’s all credit to the boys.”

As well as sharing it with the tight-knit dressing room, Dack was equally pleased to celebrate with the travelling away fans.

More than 3,800 packed into the away end at Doncaster Rovers where Charlie Mulgrew’s late header sealed a memorable evening.

An aggregate travelling support of more than 43,000 have followed Rovers up and down the country in their 23 league games away from Ewood Park.

There was also a big turn-out for the civic parade when fans were able to show their appreciation to the players.

And keen to thank them for their efforts, Dack said: “It’s special. They have been unbelievable all season, the support, particularly away from home, to turn up as they have.

“To see them at Doncaster, it looked like they had filled half of the stadium.

“They have been in full voice all season and to do it in front of them was an unbelievable feeling.”
