ROVERS will make a late call on the fitness of Danny Graham ahead of Saturday's League One trip to Gillingham.

The striker is carrying a rib problem but was due to train on Friday morning before Tony Mowbray's squad begin the journey south.

Full back Ryan Nyambe is definitely out with the youngster suffering a hamstring injury while Harry Chapman will play for Rovers Under-23s in their Premier League Cup tie at Aston Villa on Friday night as he builds up a return to fitness. Lewis Travis will also feature for Damien Johnson's side in that fixture but it comes too soon for Ben Gladwin.

Peter Whittingham is back in first team contention and will travel to Gillingham as he bids to make a first appearance since December 30.

On the make-up of his squad Mowbray said: "I like to keep the defensive line pretty consistent and yet this week Nyambe has a hamstring injury so Nyambe won’t playing who has played most of the season. That has a knock on effect in the team.

"We are going to have to wait on Danny Graham as well to see whether he can get through training today. If he does that is great and if he doesn’t that will be another issue we have to resolve.

"The core of the team knows what is expected at this level, know what the demands of each game are and we will go down south with a positive mentality to go and get some points."
