Harry Chapman's injury return has been put back as Rovers Under-23s game with Newcastle United at Leyland this evening has been postponed because of a waterlogged pitch.

Middlesbrough loanee Chapman was set to feature this evening for Damien Johnson’s men who are currently top of Premier League 2 Division Two.

Chapman has been back at Rovers for a week and was due to step-up his comeback from a hamstring tear by featuring this evening. But with the game off, Chapman’s hopes of being involved in Saturday’s trip to Gillingham may well have been dashed.

Joe Nuttall, Peter Whittingham and Paul Caddis were others who may well have featured in the game.

The Under-23s are in action again on Friday evening when they travel to face Aston Villa in the Premier League Cup last 16.

They are also in action next Tuesday (March 20) when they are due to face Southampton at Leyland.
