Ryan Nyambe suffered a hamstring injury which forced him off in the first-half of Rovers’ 3-0 home win over Blackpool.

The full-back was an injury doubt ahead of the game and picked up the injury when chasing the ball down the line.

Danny Graham sustained a rib problem as Rovers finished the closing minutes a man light, while Charlie Mulgrew suffered a blow to the head which boss Tony Mowbray said could require stitches.

On the injury front, Mowbray said: “I’ve just seen Danny, he’s been lying on the bed. I think he managed to pop a rib out of place but it’s popped back in.

“He took a whack on the side and as he’s stretched it’s gone back in and the pain has gone straight away.

“He’s laughing with the lads in the dressing room, so hopefully he’ll be fine.

“We’ll let it settle down and hopefully he’s not sore in a day or two.

“Charlie will need a few stitches and Nyambe’s injury is the disappointment for us, it looks like his hamstring.

“He took a knock in the last game and missed a few days, so maybe a sprint early on has done his hamstring – he’ll be a loss for us.”

Elliott Bennett filled in at right-back when Nyambe was forced off as Corry Evans came on in central midfield.

On whether Bennett could be a solution during Nyambe’s absence, Mowbray said: “Bennett is an option for us, he’s such a flexible footballer.

“He can play wide left, wide right, right-back or centrally, as we’ve seen.

“We’ll have to have a look at that, because (Paul) Caddis and (Lewis) Travis are also in the building, of course – we’ll have to decide.

“I’ll start preparing for Gillingham tomorrow and we’ll have to decide how best to utilise Elliott’s qualities.”
