We asked our Rovers fans' jury: "What have you made of the club's transfer dealings this month and where else you would like to see strengthened?"

On the face of it, the dealings seems good and necessary business with hopefully more to come.

For a meaningful promotion push a strong, balanced squad is imperative and there must be competition for places.

I'm surprised the manager feels the need to be defensive about new signings and worries about current players' reactions. Any team member worth his salt will realise that he has to raise his game to keep his place.

I still think that some "steel" needs adding at centre-back because when the going gets tough the tough get promotion.

Tony Mowbray continues to impress with his astute understanding of what the squad needs to compliment what we already have.

Paul Downing gives us the steadiness whilst Adam Armstrong and Jack Payne, both of whom are proven at this level,  will bring creativity and flair.

I'd like to see the signing of Amari'i Bell be finalised as he looks an exciting prospect and whilst Ryan Nyambe is playing probably the best football of his career, an attacking right back who is comfortable in possession would certainly add a new attacking dimension.

My only criticism is that we are flooding the team with loan players and I'd like to see us making some permanent signings, considering the long term future of the club and not just the immediate future, however, in Tony I trust!

I've been impressed with the players that Rovers have brought in so far this month and expect them to add to the permanent signing of Paul Downing by capturing Fleetwood left-back Amari'i Bell.

It will be interesting to see if Bell features on Saturday, providing Rovers have not already got the deal done by then. Although he is out of contract in the summer, the £300k price tag isn't too hefty.

Adam Armstrong is a great signing and we have already had a taste of his electric pace when he made his debut off the bench at home to Shrewsbury. As expected, he played in a wide role, a position which Rovers have looked slightly short in recently, due to injuries to Harry Chapman and Marcus Antonsson, and Elliott Bennett moving into a central role.

Everyone appears to be excited by the arrival of Jack Payne, who joins on loan from Huddersfield until the end of the season. Having spent the first half of the season at Oxford, and previously played for Southend,
he has shown what he can do in this league. Seven goals and 12 assists so far this season shows his quality at this level. He provides good backup to the likes of Bradley Dack, but will have to prove his worth in order to make the starting lineup.

Once we see the likes of Chapman and Darragh Lenihan return next month, Rovers will have a squad which is arguably unrivalled in terms of its quality and depth.
