Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 3-1 home win over Shrewsbury Town.

David Raya 7

Unfortunate to be penalised for the spot-kick but in truth hardly had a save to make otherwise.

Ryan Nyambe 8

His performances improving by the week. Rarely beaten on his side and his work on the ball was composed.

Paul Downing 7

Rarely lost a challenge in the air with Morris and was no nonsense in his defending throughout.

Charlie Mulgrew 8

Scored twice, once from a free-kick and another from the spot and was in the right place to deal with plenty of Shrewsbury crosses.

Derrick Williams 6

Was a little hasty in possession, and could have been more assured, but dealt with the threat of Whalley well.

Elliott Bennett 8 (MAN OF THE MATCH)

An excellent performance in the midfield of the park, using both his industry and skill on the ball in a fine display.  Rovers were short of options in the middle of the park but Bennett helped stifle the Shrews midfield three and has provided an excellent option for Tony Mowbray moving forward.

Richie Smallwood 7

Always looking to play on the edge but didn’t allow the Shrewsbury midfield a minute’s peace.

Dominic Samuel 7

A surprise choice on the right but had the beating of Beckles on every occasion and played his part in winning the penalty.

Craig Conway 7

Worked hard on the left and put some testing crosses in to the box before being replaced.

Bradley Dack 7

Would have scored were it not for a fine Henderson save in the first half and the post denying him in the second. Led the Rovers pressing from the front.

Danny Graham 8

Deserved his great ovation after scoring his ninth of the season and leading the line to great effect.

Saw a late shot blocked after linking up with Nuttall
