DANNY Graham insists any game-time provides the chance to impress but says the players have become used to Tony Mowbray's rotation policy.

The Rovers boss is yet to name an unchanged team with Graham one of the players to have been in and out of the starting line-up so far this season.

The experienced striker scored the winner in Wednesday's FA Cup replay at Crewe, his third goal of the competition, and he's hoping that is enough to earn him a starting spot against Charlton Athletic tomorrow.

Mowbray has switched things up in attack, with Dominic Samuel, Joe Nuttall and Graham all having been handed the chance to lead the line within the last month.

And after an hour and a goal under his belt at Crewe, the 32-year-old said: “It’s always a chance to impress, we all want to be playing week in week out.

“But I think everyone has seen the gaffer never really keeps a winning team, everyone gets their chance and are producing so long may it continue.

“He has said from the start that different games will mean different challenges and different players so we just stick together and as long as the team is winning which breeds confidence then it’s a happy dressing room.

“It is difficult, I’ve scored in games and then found myself on the bench so of course it is.

“But when the team is winning we all stick together and move on.”

Mowbray will be forced in to at least one change from last weekend's win at Peterborough, Rovers' fifth league victory in a row, due to the injury to Peter Whittingham.

With the busy festive period approaching, Graham believes that the strength in depth at Mowbray's disposal, even despite a number of key men being sidelined, will prove key in Rovers' promotion push.

He added: “The games come thick and fast and we’re going to have to use the squad.

“You look around our bench on any weekend and they would already probably get in most League One teams.

“Everyone is going to be needed so we’ll all need to work hard in training and when your chance comes you have to take it.

“Everyone is contributing, we have four players on eight goals including Charlie (Mulgrew) who is a centre half.

“We’re all doing our bit, all pulling together, in training and games we’re right behind each other and the most important thing is everyone wants to do well for one and other.”

Rovers made it in to round three of the FA Cup with the win over Crewe which came at the second time of asking.

The game was played 24 hours later than planned because of the heavy snow and ice at Crewe's Alexandra Stadium, with conditions still tricky when the game did go ahead.

But recording a first clean sheet since the 3-0 win at Bury on November 18 as well as a third round date with Hull City, Graham admits it was a job well done.

“It wasn’t nice out there, difficult conditions and the pitch was very wet in certain areas,” he said after netting his fifth of the season.

“The first 15 minutes when the lads were playing balls forward we were struggling to see it at times but it’s a job well done, a professional job after the 3-3 draw.

“It’s another positive result and a clean sheet. That gives everyone a boost and we’re not going to score three or four away from home every week so that was good.

“We came and got the job done and now focus and move on to Charlton.”
