Rovers reporter Rich Sharpe hands out his player ratings after the 3-0 win at Bury.
David Raya 7
An important save at 0-0 to deny Humphrey and showed good handling to claim a number of crosses, despite losing his footing on a number of occasions.
Ryan Nyambe 7
Starting to make better decisions, both in possession and in finding space. Was made to do plenty of defensive work early on, but stopped a number of crosses reaching their target.
Paul Downing 7
Six clean sheets in eight games for Downing who didn’t lose a header and was calm and assured in possession. A good block to deny Aldred in the second half.
Charlie Mulgrew 8
Looked a step above the Bury attackers, making several fine interceptions, and able to bring the ball about of defence with composure.
Derrick Williams 7
Tested defensively early on, but grew in to the game to strike up a good partnership with Antonsson down the left. Excellent pass in to Dack for the third goal.
Richie Smallwood 8
Tackled everything that came in his way, often walking a tightrope with the referee, but recycled possession effectively
Peter Whittingham 7
Strolled through the game somewhat, nothing overly flashy but rarely wasted possession. Hit a second half shot over the bar.
Elliott Bennett 7
Struggled to keep his footing at times in the first half but did show a few moments of quality, including setting up a first-half chance for Antonsson.
Bradley Dack 9 (MAN OF THE MATCH)
Two assists, a goal and head and shoulders above anyone on the field. An expert throughball for the first, a pinpoint cross for the second and then an excellent run and shot for his 25-yard strike.
Getting better by the week and his influence on this team is growing by the week.
Marcus Antonsson 8
Two well taken goals, a left foot finish and a header, and tireless work down the left. Looks much more comfortable playing off the left flank.
Joe Nuttall 7
Missed an excellent chance at 1-0 but that shouldn’t take away from an accomplished performance leading the line on his first league start.
Subs
Rekeem Harper (for Whittingham, 77) 6
Got around the pitch well in his cameo appearance with two driving runs forward and one good covering challenge
Danny Graham (for Nuttall, 81) 6
Passed up a late chance as a lack of elevation on an attempted chip saw him denied by Fasan
Dominic Samuel (for Antonsson, 81) 6
Given a late run-out on his return from suspension
Subs not used: Jayson Leutwiler, Sam Hart, Scott Wharton, Paul Caddis
