ROVERS have announced ‘The Energy Check’ as the club’s first ever back of the shirt sponsor.

The partnership will see the name of the independent consultancy displayed on the back of the club’s first team shirts for the remainder of the 2017/18 season.

The deal follows the firm having been unveiled as Rovers’ official social media sponsors earlier this week .

Danny Davis, Rovers’ Business Development Manager, said: “This deal is a first for Blackburn Rovers and we are delighted to have The Energy Check supporting us throughout the remainder of the campaign.

“The Energy Check stood out to us as being the best in terms of mirroring our long-term objectives as a football club and this partnership is an excellent way for the company to raise its brand awareness.”

David Winton, CEO of The Energy Check, said the firm have already helped Rovers reduce their energy costs and will continue to work closely with the club.

He said: “I’ve spent quite a few years of my life working in Blackburn, having previously been involved in the construction of the Blackburn and Darwen Schools projects and I’m very excited to now be the back of the shirt sponsor at Blackburn Rovers.

“This is not just a sponsorship, it’s a partnership and we will be working with the club on community projects, charity work, an energy improvement programme, fan incentives/initiatives and local business community engagement.

“A key focus of our discussions with the club have been a drive to reduce their energy costs, consumption and carbon footprint. We have already made a great start, saving the club almost £100k across their new electricity, gas and water contracts.

“But there is much work to do. The stadium services are ageing and we are going to get them modernised with zero capex, meaning only a positive impact to the club’s finances and of course their green credentials.

“We’ll be doing everything we can to get this great club back where it belongs by ‘arte et labore’ – skill and hard work – and we want the Rovers fans to come and join us on this journey.”
