ROVERS pair Tony Mowbray and Richie Smallwood have missed out on League One’s monthly awards.
Mowbray was shortlisted for manager of the month after a September which saw Rovers collect 13 points of out of a possible 18 but lost out to Shrewsbury Town chief Paul Hurst.
Hurst saw his side take 19 points from a possible 21 to maintain their place at the top of League One, their two dropped points coming in the 1-1 draw with Rovers at the Montgomery Waters Meadow.
And midfielder Smallwood was in the running for player of the month but was beaten by Portsmouth’s Brett Pitman.
The striker netted six times in seven league outings last month, taking his tally for the season so far to nine.
