TONY Mowbray wants Bradley Dack to focus on his football after the Rovers midfielder returned to the starting XI at Bradford City.

Dack has had a difficult start to his time at Ewood Park, coming off injured in both of his league starts, as well as making the national press after being photographed in a nightclub hours after the defeat to Southend.

But the 23-year-old, a summer acquisition from Gillingham, caught the eye in the win at Valley Parade, showing several glimpses of his quality, before being forced off on the hour mark.

A tight hamstring, which saw him replaced by Ben Gladwin, could rule him out of Wednesday’s cup tie with Burnley, but Mowbray doesn’t expect him to be out for too long.

And the playmaker has been backed by his manager to produce his best form after being put through some rigorous training sessions.

“It is similar to Southend, he came off with a tight hamstring,” Mowbray said of Dack’s substitution.

“Bradley has worked extraordinarily hard because I have had a few chats with him about his lifestyle and his issues.

“He’s here to play football and score and create goals.

“I’m not interested in anything else.

“If anything his workload was too much for him to get 90 minutes but I am hopeful it will only be a couple of days, it’s not a hamstring tear.

“We will wait and see for the weekend, but it won’t be long.”

Ryan Nyambe missed the Bradford win with a sore knee, but like Dack, isn’t expected to be out for too long.

Dack came in for some rough treatment from the Bradford players, who closely marked him throughout his time on the pitch.

A little too tightly at times, as shown by an incident in the first half in which Rovers believed they should have had a penalty when he went down under contact from a Bantams defender.

Mowbray added: “The boys watched it at half-time and he was grabbed around the neck and thrown to the floor.

“If the officials had seen it had then I’m sure they would have given it.”
