ROVERS head coach Tony Mowbray will fly out to India tomorrow to meet ‎the club's owners to discuss his future at Ewood Park.

Mowbray will meet Venky's for the first time since taking charge ‎and will look to seek assurances from the Rao family before agreeing to stay on as head coach.

The 53-year-old led the club to 22 points from his 15 games in charge after replacing Owen Coyle in February, but couldn't save the club from relegation to League One.

Venky's pledged their full support to Mowbray - who has 12 months left on his current deal - in a statement released in the wake of relegation, and will look to secure his future with the offer of an extended contract.

Mowbray will look for assurances over his playing budget for next season as he looks to keep hold of some of the club's star names ahead of their first season in the third tier for 37 years.

Discussions will also include the make up of Mowbray's backroom team, with the Rovers boss keen to make additions of his own having worked alongside David Lowe and David Dunn since being ‎appointed by former Director of Football Operations Paul Senior‎.

Rovers have remained positive of Mowbray staying at the club and hope he can launch an immediate assault on promotion back to the Championship at the first attempt.
