ROVERS have announced that Paul Senior has resigned from his role as Director of Football and Operations at the club.

Senior only took over the role in January but has left his role just a day after the club were relegated to League One.

Senior, who has previously worked at Sheffield Wednesday and Crystal Palace, was appointed to the newly-created post on January 5, with Rovers stating he would “enhance operations both on and off the pitch”.

His work at the club saw Rovers move to bring in Lucas Joao on loan from Sheffield Wednesday, while Senior was also behind the appointment of Tony Mowbray as head coach in February.

A club statement read: “The club would like to thank Paul for his efforts and wish him well in his future endeavours.

“Paul would like to go on record by wishing Tony Mowbray, the club's loyal and hard-working staff and fantastic fans the very best good fortune forward.”
