DANNY Graham claimed the top prize at the Blackburn Rovers Disabled Supporters Club awards on Tuesday night.

Fans packed in to Ewood Park’s Premier Suite to meet their heroes at the annual event – with the first team, Under-23s, Under-18s and title-winning Rovers Ladies squads all in attendance.

And it was Graham, Rovers’ joint top scorer with 12 goals so far, who went home with the Player of the Year honours.

The striker, who also has six assists and will be gunning to fire his side to safety in their remaining two games of the season, said: “I’m obviously delighted to win this award, but we’ve got two games left and if we get the job done then this will mean even more.”

The former Sunderland and Swansea forward had been a big hit with Rovers fans since making his move to Ewood Park permanent last summer following an 18-game loan spell during the 2015-16 campaign.

Among his highlights this season are finishing off a brilliant 23-pass move at Derby to secure Rovers their first away win, and his sensational strike to put his side in front against Manchester United in the fifth round of the FA Cup in February.

Ryan Nyambe was named Young Player of the Year after forcing his way into the first team towards the end of last year and making the right-back berth his own.

The Ladies honours went to Saffron Jordan, who has led the way for Gemma Donnelly’s side with 22 goals in their FA Women’s Premier League North title.

Collecting it on her behalf, teammate Ellie Cook said: “Saffron is a really big character in the team and a big player on the pitch.” The Clubman of the Year gong was presented to first team coach David Dunn. Sam Gallagher was also named as Rovers PFA Community Champion for his work off the pitch.

The players chatted to fans, signed autographs and posed for pictures before the prize winners took the spotlight.
