GOALKEEPER Jason Steele admits it’s difficult to accept still being in the bottom three with Rovers being seven games unbeaten.

Rovers are on their longest unbeaten run since going eight matches without defeat between October and December 2015.

However, that hasn’t been enough to lift them out of the relegation zone.

And having won just two of those seven fixtures, Steele admits it’s important they start turning draws in to victories in their remaining eight fixtures.

“We are showing signs of being a really good team at times, but it is difficult to know that you are in the bottom three when we are performing the way we are,” Steele told the club’s official website.

“But at the same time we have got to win games and we have got to start winning quickly.

“It is hard to take but it is football, we haven’t been good enough for three-quarters of the season, and whilst we have been good the last seven games, we need to start winning rather than drawing.

“These last eight games are massive, fans have been terrific over the last few weeks and we’ve got to stick together.

“We know the next two games are going to be tough, but we’ve shown this season that we can go away and get some good results at the likes of Newcastle and Derby so you can’t write us off just yet.

“We haven’t lost for seven games, and alright we’ve drawn too many, but to not lose in seven games is a good characteristic to have.”
