OWEN Coyle says Blackburn Rovers next 10 games provide a real opportunity to pick up points to help claw themselves out of the Championship relegation zone.

But the Rovers boss insists the focus must first be on Birmingham at home as Coyle’s side look to get back to winning ways after last weekend’s defeat at Ipswich.

Of Rovers’ next 10 league games, five are against teams currently in the bottom half of the table, while also taking in games against 12th placed Birmingham and Norwich who are currently 11th.

And ahead of three consecutive home league games, Coyle said: “It’s an opportunity as it always is, home or away.

“We’re at home now for a run of games and a chance to kick ourselves up the table to where we want to be.

“I think if you look at the next 10 games, there’s valuable points for us to pick up if we’re at our best.

“The most important thing is that we concentrate on Birmingham and to use an old cliché, we need to take one game at a time.

“We will look to get points and take that in to the next one, and if you do that, there’s no doubt that we are capable of accumulating points on the back of it.”

Coyle will make at least one change from the same which lost at Ipswich, with Ben Marshall set to be left out as speculation surrounding his future continues.

When asked if he was considering more changes, Coyle added: “As a whole (at Ipswich), did we play badly as group? No, I don’t think we did. There were the individual errors and we have to look at those but it’s about making sure that the team which takes the field is the best available to go and win those three points.”
