OWEN Coyle has revealed that Ben Marshall won't be selected for Blackburn Rovers' home game with Birmingham City this weekend.

The Rovers boss says he only wants players who are fully committed to the club, with Marshall set to be left out as speculation continues to grow over his future.

Elsewhere, Rovers are set to make a late call on the fitness of Corry Evans ahead of this weekend's home game.

Craig Conway is more likely to return to the squad however, having missed the last two games with a hamstring injury.

Evans and Conway, along with Anthony Stokes and Danny Guthrie, who were all absent from the defeat to Ipswich, trained with the first-team squad today.

Northern Irish midfielder Evans has been struggling with a long-term groin injury and has started just one of the last five games.

But boss Owen Coyle hopes to have the quartet available for the visit of Birmingham which starts a run of four consecutive home games for Rovers.

“They all trained today,” Coyle revealed.

“Of those, Stokes, Guthrie and Conway are likely to come back in to the squad.

“Corry we will evaluate again before the game. He did some of the session but not as much.

“Corry is an important one because we have to get to the point where he is available to play week in, week out, because he brings so much to the team.

“It will be nice to have them all back in and about the squad because that gives us options of how we got about it.

“It is fair to say that those three could be involved on Saturday."

Tommie Hoban, Elliott Ward and Adam Henley remain longer-term absentees for Rovers, who are continuing talks with Swansea over the future of Marvin Emnes.

Rovers hoping for an answer on whether the Dutchman will remain at Ewood Park for the rest of the season in the coming days.

Emnes, who came off the bench at Portman Road last weekend, saw his loan expire on January 15, and despite returning to his parent club, dialogue between the two parties is continuing.

Rovers have been short of numbers in recent weeks, but with players starting to return to fitness, Coyle added: “It will be nice to have that quality of player back in and among the squad.”
