BLACKBURN Rovers boss Owen Coyle hopes to meet with out of contract winger Ben Marshall's representatives next week to thrash out the 25-year-old's future.

Marshall's Ewood deal expires at the end of the season and although the former Leicester City man has stated his intention to remain at Rovers, he has yet to put pen to paper.

That is something Coyle is keen to change, with the Rovers boss also exploring the possibility of signing some of his loan stars permanently.

Of Marshall's situation Coyle said: "I had a good chat with Ben and said that we would like to sit down face to face with his representatives and take that on to see exactly where we are and make that decision from there.

It would be nice to sort something out one way or the other. We are trying to have that meeting face to face with Ben's representatives and hopefully that will take place next week."

Marshall, who was the subject of bids from Wolves and Fulham over the summer, is set to start for Rovers against Brentford tomorrow and Coyle insists he has no concerns about fielding a player who could walk away on a free transfer come the summer.

"He has shown by his performances that he is here and that he is committed," said Coyle of Marshall, who will be free to open talks with overseas clubs from January.

You want to get the best deal possible for the club and the player and the way the world is now the representatives have a degree of power given that he is in the last year of his contract.

"But all we can do is the best for the football club and that is what we will try and do.

"He is a player we would love to keep as are a number of others such as the boys we have brought in on loan we would love to have them here permanently but whether we can secure that moving forward only time will tell."
